The alginate salt absorbs wound exudates in exudative ulcers and forms a thick gel on the surface of the wound. The gel maintains a moist environment to accelerate wound healing while also stopping any hemorrhage. Meanwhile, the gel that forms over the wound prevents the dressing from adhering to the ulcer and so its change is carried out painlessly.<\/p>\n<p>It can also be used in superficial and hemostatic wounds, in moderately to heavily exudative, hollow, and pressure ulcers.
